The aim of this hearing is to examine the status and possibilities of development of the institutionalization of research on masculinities in the Nordic countries in 2009. Moderator: Bosse Parbring |

During the hearing a series of outstanding researchers from the Nordic environments, among others will be discussing among other Knut Oftung, Ulf Mellström, Johanna Lammi-Taskula, Øystein Gullvåg Holter, Jørgen Lorentzen, Steen Baagøe Nielsen, Linn Sandberg and Ingólfur V. Gíslason will be discussing: - Histories/experiences with ‘flashbacks’ at the organization of the research on men and masculinities - Positions within research on men and masculinities in relation to important research trends, positions, and challenges (queer, poststructuralism, intersectionality, gender research, feminism, patriarchy, etc.) - Financing, politics of gender equality, networks, and other current institutionalizations - The concrete need of future Nordic organizations |
