Et niveau opThis is the first official Nordic conference arranged by the Nordic Society for research on Men and Masculinities (provisional board). The conference is organised in cooperation with NeMM – Network for reasearch on Men and Masculinities, RUC - Roskilde University, Department of Psychology and Educational Studies. The aim of the conference is to exchange and gather knowledge from research on men and masculinities in ‘the gender equal Nordic countries’. This is done to further and strengthen the understanding and theorizing of Nordic masculinities and men’s conditions and experiences.

The following themes, which were suggested earlier, have not been established: Theme A: Men’s social innovation, management, and hegemony in the welfare state, Theme E: Work, technology, and machines, Theme G: (Incap)able bodies and (im)potent sexualities, Theme I: Men and masculinities in a North/South-perspective – On globalization, migration, orientalism, and Diaspora, Theme M: ‘Working with boys’: Empowerment and work with male identity – between practical intersections and (ideal) connections, Theme N: Organization of work, management, and human capital(ization), and Theme O: Cultures of knowledge and regimes of knowledge under and after the feminist movements.

- The conference organizers proudly presents the Danish-Portuguese multi artist L-O-B-O’s video-installation uncut which will be shown during the whole conference in Small Auditorium in Building 01 at Roskilde University.

- It is now possible to register and pay the conference fee for the Changing Men and Masculinities in Gender Equal Societies conference via the web. All conference participants must register and pay via the web, also participants who have sent us an e-mail with a registration earlier. Invoices will not be sent to the participants, as earlier announced.
